The History Bluff

The History Blugg

So the other day I am on this website for history buffs.  And I read this article about why we call an Adam’s apple an Adam’s apple. Did you know it was because that William Tell actually had 2 sons?  And while he was successful in shooting the apple off of the head of son Walter, he was not so successful with son Adam.  The arrow went right through Adam’s neck, and so we have Adam’s apple.

Wait a minute. That doesn’t sound right. Maybe a little too hokey?  I look at the site a little closer. And I see, it is not called the History Buff, it is called The History Bluff.   And they have a pigeon for a mascot.  Why a pigeon?  Conviniently The History Bluff has a page titled “Why the Pigeon?”

With a tongue-in-cheek approach, The History Bluff continues the trend and makes like a pigeon, messing up history with creative interpretation and a freewheeling imagination.

I think I have been had! William Tell didn’t miss and shoot his second son through the Adam’s apple! As far as I can tell there was no second son!

The History Bluff is a pretty funny blog that gets creative with history. Mixing fact and fiction, I think you would have to be a real history buff to know what is true, and what is pigeon droppings on this funny blog.

It’s good to know that people are still being humorous and I can understand the humor. A lot of today’s humor just goes over my head - or at least it doesn’t make me laugh.
